Also, I ended up using this verse (and several of the preceding ones) in my Sunday School lesson for my church's Youth Group today. It just fit so well with the Anthropic Principle and the Teleological Argument! Ha. I just sounded academic.

Great verse. It's kind of funny to me too, because I just spent 26 hours plowing/shoveling the massive blizzard that hit the Northeast and could use a little renewing of my strength! I think its the 'waiting upon the LORD' part that seems so difficult because we are always so busy, constantly 'doing' instead of waiting on anything.

I know this isn't scripture, but it is the heart of scripture because it is the heart of our God.

Selected Lyrics from
"Give Me Your Eyes" by Brandon Heath

Chorus:
Give me your eyes for just one second
Give me your eyes so I can see
Everything that I keep missing
Give me your love for humanity
Give me your arms for the broken hearted
Ones that are far beyond my reach.
Give me your heart for the ones forgotten
Give me your eyes so I can see

Step out on a busy street
See a girl and our eyes meet
Does her best to smile at me
To hide what's underneath
There's a man just to her right
Black suit and a bright red tie
Too ashamed to tell his wife
He's out of work
He's buying time
All those people going somewhere
Why have I never cared?

Chorus
Give me your eyes for just one second
Give me your eyes so I can see
Everything that I keep missing
Give me your love for humanity
Give me your arms for the broken hearted
Ones that are far beyond my reach.
Give me your heart for the ones forgotten
Give me your eyes so I can see

I've Been there a million times
A couple of million eyes
Just moving past me by
I swear I never thought that I was wrong
Well I want a second glance
So give me a second chance
To see the way you see the people all along.

This IS scripture:

James 1:27 "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."

Jeremiah 22:16 "'He defended the cause of the poor and needy, as so all went well. Is that not what it means to know me?' declares the Lord."

Micah 6:8 "He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."

Hosea 6:8 "For I desire mercy, no sacrifice, and acknowledgment of God rather than burnt offerings."

Lord, may we glorify you this week with no regrets. May our purpose on this earth be eternal and not temporary in manner. We love you our King. Amen.

Lord, You alone are awesome and mighty. You alone are the source of wisdom, truth, hope, understanding, and peace.
Teach us this week to walk confidently in your promises. Teach us to live openly and love boldly.
Glorify yourself through our lives this week.
