Francis Chan: Erasing Hell

Francis Chan is releasing a new book named Erasing Hell. It is being released on July 5th, 2011. This video previews his overview for the purpose of the book.  It should be very challenging and thought-provoking. “Do you ever even consider the possibility that maybe the Creator’s sense of justice is actually more developed than yours? And that maybe His love, and His mercy are perfect: and that you could be the one that is flawed?”  Addressing our pride in relation to hell and justice is an approach that brings a new look to the idea and theology of God’s judgement.

99 Thoughts for College-Age People: #1

This series is focusing on the book, “99 Thoughts for College- Age People: Insightful Tips for Life After High School” by Chuck Bomar.

I will be listing these often,  they are very thought-provoking, but also humorous. Enjoy.

1. The process of discovering what you want to do should be taken slowly.

There is no rush, no matter who keeps asking you. The worst thing you can do is rush into a career path that you hate, simply to satisfy immediate pressures placed on you.  I once knew a guy who for 13 years watched a machine put the caps on soda bottles.  Yeah, the machine did all the work and he just watched it do its thing. I know this may be a shock to you, but this wasn’t his dream job. He got stuck. You will regret settling for something less than you want.” -Bomar pg. 3-4

Monday’s Song of the Week: How He Loves

Here at Sweepusaway.com, we believe that the power of musical worship is something that one should not overlook and that God finds glory in. Each Monday, we present a song that hopefully will encourage you and allow you to worship the Father. This week’s song is Flyleaf’s: How He Loves.

I apologize for the shaky camera and the fact that this is coming on Tuesday, instead of Monday, but I figured we should jump back into the song of the week flow. Enjoy =)

Monday’s Song of the Week: Running

Here at Sweepusaway.com, we believe that the power of musical worship is something that one should not overlook and that God finds glory in. Each Monday, we present a song that hopefully will encourage you and allow you to worship the Father. This week’s song is Kaylin Shirley’s: Running

“I am running. Running after You. Here with You, I find my life.”

The Social Network

This movie will most likely not be the most upstanding, moral, etc movie but it centers around one of the biggest common factors between college students today: Facebook. It comes out this Friday, and I would love it if you guys would check it out and let me know what you think.  Social networking can be a huge tool for ministry and for positive connection but it can also be the driving force behind a generation free falling away from God. It will be interesting to see the angle that Hollywood takes on the Facebook phenomenon.
